GROUNDHOG DAY: UNPACKING THE CURRENT AND NEW TITLE IX REGULATIONS
If it feels like we are ALWAYS talking about a new set of Title IX regulations, you are paying just the right amount of attention. In July of 2022 the Biden Administration's Department of Education published a NEW set of new Title IX regulations. In addition to the flashy issues surrounding LGBQTI+ students and that have garnered media attention, these new regulations propose significant changes to the definition of sex harassment and the process that schools must follow to investigate allegations of sex harassment. Every member of a school district's Title IX team should plan on attending this session.
