DescriptionDescription: Panel presentation and discussion to provide information about services available for children, youth, and families. Providers will include Region I Behavioral Health Authority, Community Action Youth Programs, and Panhandle Community Response Initiative.

Betsy Vidlak, BA, CAC I, is the Supportive Health Services Director at Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska (CAPWN) in Scottsbluff. CAPWN has been providing services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness since 1964. They operate a Youth Shelter and Group Home and Supportive Housing for youth and adults experiencing homelessness. They serve the entire Panhandle of Nebraska through the Connected Youth Initiative. CAPWN also has Migrant Head Start and is a Federally Qualified Health Center, among other programming. Over the last 10 years, CAPWN has been working toward and providing trauma informed services throughout their agency. Betsy received her education in psychology/substance abuse from Chadron State College. She previously worked as a Counselor in residential treatment for youth in Fort Collins, CO. There, she obtained her Addiction Counselor Certificate. Over the last two years, CAPWN has participated in two National learning communities for Trauma Informed Practice. Betsy led these projects within the agency and provided training to all 7 Community Action agencies across Nebraska. Their current work includes providing trauma informed health care services through their Health Clinic.
