| Description | | CPI de-escalation and safety intervention training from Crisis Prevention Institute. This course focuses on care, welfare, safety, and security for school staff and students. You will learn:
How to identify behaviors that could lead to a crisis
How to effectively respond to those behaviors
How to use verbal and nonverbal techniques to resolve a crisis
How to recognize your own fear and anxiety
How to utilize safety interventions during moments of crisis
Successful use of CPI training as part of a comprehensive crisis intervention plan can defuse challenging behavior before an incident escalates to a crisis. Successful implementation leads to a change in organizational culture, a change in adult professional behavior, and a change in staff relationships with students. |
