Description | | Presented by Cheri Farris
We weren’t all born knowing how to communicate in the most effective ways. This interactive Motivational Interviewing (MI) workshop will provide tools and skills to have more impactful conversations to support positive change and growth. This introductory MI workshop will be a solid introduction to, or review of, MI and allow attendees to leave with new and developing person-centered conversational skills. MI is useful because it respects the person's autonomy and choice, while also helping them overcome their ambivalence and barriers. Research has shown that MI can improve academic outcomes, such as attendance, grades, and retention. With practice, these skills can enhance interactions with students, colleagues, parents, administrators, and our own families.
