Description: Engagement by Design Strategies and Book Study
Participants will attend a two day workshop where they will explore the various facets of student engagement and develop an understanding of how to create learning environments where all students can learn through relevant and challenging content. The five chapters of the book Engagement by Design (Fisher, Frey, Quaglia) will form the backbone of the class as participants learn the balanced model for students to cognitively engage.  Each of the five chapters, the inviting classroom, relationships, clarity, challenge and engagement will be aligned with the current instructional framework used by our districts and enhanced by the NDE Equity toolkit information and strategies.
