DescriptionIn culturally responsive schools, educators recognize that bullying is fundamentally about the imbalance and abuse of power, so they strive to move beyond targeting student-to-student bullying and move toward an appreciation of the ways in which gender, race, class, sexual identity, religion and ability position some children as more powerful and privileged in schools than others. In this session, JoEtta will share information on the legal requirements for schools to address harassment, and the Equity Alliance will assist participants in examining ways to create culturally responsive environments where all students feel a sense of safety and connectedness.
